Krissy has worked as a mental health counselor with teens for many years within a local school district in addition to her private practice. They have a passion for helping teens work through typical adolescent struggles as well as more serious mental health challenges. They meet youth where they are at, offers empathy and compassion, helps them feel heard and offers firmer feedback and direction when needed. With an awareness that mental illness and mental wellness lies on a spectrum, Krissy helps teens find their way by empowering them to make the changes needed to help improve their mental health.

Sometimes all is needed is for a teen to learn some healthy coping skills and ways to deal with day to day stressors and challenges. Other times, what is required is a deeper dive into past or current life events. Either way, Krissy will work to help create a safe space for your teen to move towards mental wellness and learn how to thrive in a increasingly challenging world.

“The parent-child connection is the most powerful mental health intervention known to mankind.” - Bessel van der Kolk

Krissy utilizes various counseling modalities in their treatment with clients, including: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, Mindfulness and more. It is shown that it matters more that a client feels safe and a connection to a therapist than what treatment modalities they use. So take the time to find a therapist that your teen connects to and they are more likely to have positive outcomes.
